I usually don't update my journals on deviantART, so I've decided to create a sketch blog instead. I've been meaning to sketch more often--let's hope this blog motivates me to do just that!

Also, everything at my new school is going great! I can't wait to start posting higher quality work in the near future.

After receiving word from all the colleges I have applied to, the final decision has been made: I will be attending Ringling College of Art and Design's Computer Animation Program! I must admit, I was a bit sad that I was rejected from CALArts (I wasn't even wait-listed...?) but now I'm ready to move full-steam ahead into making preparations for my upcoming Ringling experience!

Which leads me to the greatest news ever...

RINGLING AWARDED ME THE DREAMWORKS SCHOLARSHIP!!!!!

I cannot help but go into complete super-active-hyper-drive-mode about this scholarship. This award feels like a huge "Hint, hint! Wink, wink!" in my direction. And to have DreamWorks have a part in making this happen? I feel so honored!!!

After something like this...well, I feel like making some more art! I'll be posting some new artwork up next week; until then, I hope everyone is having/ has had a wonderful Spring Break!

I'VE BEEN ACCEPTED INTO RINGLING COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN'S COMPUTER ANIMATION PROGRAM!!!

I can't send in the acceptance fee just yet, though. I need to see whether I've been accepted to CALArts yet, and then decide whether or not I'm going to Ringling.

Just have to wait and see!!!

Alrighty, so first off, the reason for the poll on which animal you think relates to me was for a very cool contest: The Hot Mess Character Contest. silentreaper.deviantart.com/jo… <~ Click it, check it out, enter...you know, all the good stuff. I'm already starting to work on mine (I'm not telling you what it's going to be yet, but trust me when I say that it will be ADORABLE).

Besides the contest, I'm also working on a huge lino-cut. Yes, yes, I know I said that it was going to be a woodcut, but it turns out that the wood I bought was just too grainy to carve into, so I just told myself, "Fudge this, LINO-CUT HERE I COME!" I hope to get it done in time for the first printmaking show EVER at our school, but if not I have a few other prints up my sleeve. I've been a printmaking fool, BUHAHAHAHAHA, and can't wait to show you guys some the awesome work I've been doing.

Now, onto the nerdy (but totally cool section) of this journal.

Lately, Pokemon Black and White has just come out, and I am extremely excited about buying it. But, there's something that's been bothering me; after all this hype for Pokemon being released out in March, no one has paid ANY attention to another game that is also coming out in March.

WHY HAS THERE BEEN ZERO ADVERTISING/ PUBLICITY FOR THIS GAME? Have I simply been blind, or has no one been talking about it? For all I know it's been Pokemon this, Pokemon that, but NO ONE has mentioned Okamiden. The only reason I found out about the game is through Amazon (where I went to check the price of Pokemon White, ho ho), and now I'm in a huge bind about which one to get.

So, the question is this: Do I buy Pokemon White or do I wait and buy Okamiden? I already asked Hamlet this question, and even he didn't have an answer (though to be honest, no one should ask Hamlet about anything; really, you shouldn't even try).

Oh, and there's one last thing I forgot to mention: I'm now working on another short story. I already finished and edited the last story I was working on about the goddess and the snake and it's already been submitted to Scholastics (yes)! I have a feeling this next project is going to be very, very cool, and it's going to involve one of my favorite subjects.

Do you know what that subject is?

If you manage to get it right, there is something in it for you, dear watcher. I'm not dropping any big hints, but I will say this: it is something in the science fiction category.
